1/23/2012: What's Happening in the Stars

What a stellar day we have coming up on January 23rd! Several things are going on, astrology-wise, so let's take a look at all the juicy goodness in store ...



First of all, we have a New Moon in Aquarius! Now remember, New Moons are a time when you can set your intentions on whatever goals or dreams you’d like to put into motion and it'll be supported the solar and lunar conjunction! These energies will assist us in manifesting our dreams & desires into reality.

Very potent stuff, huh?



The Sun just moved into Aquarius a few days before, now the Moon meets up with the Sun and WHAM-O! And even though the symbol for the zodiac is a water-bearing person, the elemental energy associated with Aquarius is Air ...that's right, AIR.

It's a sign of revolution, change, rebellion and change --all pretty heady stuff! Even though it's intense, Aquarius works with humanity as a whole, moving us into the future through progress and change, even though it may seem a bit chaotic at times.

The New Moon in Aquarius is a good time to think up new ideas or strategies, not only for ourselves, but also for our communities as well. It's also still a new calendar year, so it gives us a 'breath of fresh air', allowing us to clear away the old and begin a-new. Very exciting, for sure!

Another stellar sweet-spot is Mars, the aggressive planet of action, will be retrograde from January 23rd through April 14th in the sign of Virgo. What does that mean? Well, since Mars is in a retrograde motion, it will seem to move backwards in our charts, giving us an opportunity to turn inward and re-do opportunities to better our advantage.

Perhaps your New Year diet resolution is already weakening or you'd like to strengthen your commitment to those New Year goals. Then, with Mars in retrograde, we have the opportunity for a cosmic do-over and get back on course! :)



And, last but not least, we have Chinese New Year on the 23rd celebrating the Year of the Dragon!

The oriental Dragon is a very lucky sign & rewards us with a year for success, but only if we work hard and think things through & not be too hot-headed or impulsive --so be careful!

Overall, the Year of the Dragon blesses us with a lucky & prosperous year ahead!
