What's Happening in the Stars - A Party in Pisces!

Yes, there's a party in Pisces ...and you're invited!

Neptune has entered Pisces, which is its astrological ruler, and Mercury, the quirky planet of communication, dove in last week! And, before long, we have the Sun, then Moon, dipping into the vast ocean of Pisces too!



Sun in Pisces - 2/19/2012

As we move from the mental (in a good way, of course!) sign of Aquarius into the dreamy depths of Pisces, we'll be tapping into the energies of Pisces' ruling planets (yes, two planets!) of Jupiter and Neptune. This will bring out such positive traits as compassion, receptivity and heighten our imagination too, but we must remember to 'go with the flow' instead of trying to swim 'up stream' if dealing with difficult issues during this time.

We may feel like Pisces' symbol --two fishes who are swimming in different directions. Trust your intuition and use this time to meditate or rely on a more spiritual outlook or philosophy to help you get through this phase.



New Moon in Pisces - 2/21/2012

Not long after the Sun moves into Pisces, it's quickly followed by the New Moon. This may allow us an opportunity to flow forward with our dreams of the future! But try not to get too starry-eyed and get carried away. Drugs &/or alcohol, which are also 'ruled' by Pisces, won't help, but may only make issues more difficult to deal with and can hinder making your dreams come true.

Use the New Moon energies of Pisces wisely by re-evaluating your dreams. If your dreams seem too BIG to come true, then aim for smaller, yet satisfying goals which will enlighten your future plans! :)

In the Headlines: Venus & Uranus in Aries

I'll must admit that astrology is, for me, a continuing unfolding array of irony & surprise --especially over the past weekend. I came home from dinner with friends, feeling pretty groovy when I booted up my computer & saw the breaking news headlines: Whitney Houston dead at 48!

I'm an 80s gal, going through high school, college & my first venture into the working world and, through the music of that time period, fondly remember people, places & events which reflected the world around me. And the awesome voice & shining personality of a young Whitney Houston & her music definitely played a big part of those years for me.



So, as you might imagine, my heart sank at the news of her untimely passing at 48 and just days before the Grammys, where her music had left their mark, in her heyday, on all of us who'd grown up to her pop songs & heart stirring ballads.

I quickly drew up an astrology chart and looked --sure enough, Venus, the planet of ultra-feminine charm & grace was meeting up with Uranus, the planet of 'surprises' & known for its energies to 'shake us up'.

Yep, talk about the cosmos hitting the nail on the head!

Later, after I found her birth information, I pulled Whitney's birth chart & realized just what a challenge this lifetime was for her. Like most of her fans, I, personally, wasn't happy with her later life decisions, but always hoped she'd get her act together, get off drugs & make a successful comeback.

But, alas, it all ended too soon.



Now, I didn't watch the Grammys, but did see the videos posted online of Jennifer Hudson's touching tribute to Whitney. I also saw the footage of Adele, an English soul singer, who got a standing ovation from the audience in a post-throat surgery comeback performance, then she won several music categories & carried home the gold!



What does this have to do with Kosmic Astrology? Well, to me, both ladies took to the stage & sang with the power, beauty & emotional strength of Venus in Aries --don't you agree? And, coupled with the erratic energies of Uranus, that's one heady combination!

The events of this past weekend, both the sudden tragedy & triumph of these amazing women are reminders of how the Venusian energies, together with Uranus, can sometimes express themselves in the world around us.

What's Happening in the Stars - February 7-8 2012

Full Moon in Leo - 2/7/2012




Tuesday afternoon we'll experience a blast of Full Moon energy in the fiery sign of outgoing Leo! The Leo Moon creates an opposition to the Sun in Aquarius. However, since the Sun rules the royal sign of Leo, its energy should work better together than most Full Moon periods.

This will be a good time to wisely indulge in your Self & reveal in your own sense of importance. We all can benefit from those lovely Leo energies, but be cautious not to overindulge or act out. Yep, it could tarnish your pride and could appear to be insensitive to others or even a bit foolish.

Saturn retrograde in Libra - 2/7/2012



Okay, folks, here we go again! Yep, Saturn, the taskmaster, will be moving into retrograde until June 25th --prepare for a pop quiz from your celestial teacher! Sure, Saturn's tough, but fair, so make sure you get the lessons you're suppose to be learning while Saturn moves backwards through the cosmos.

Those going through Saturn returns may feel these energies more intensely, but, after Saturn moves direct again, you'll be a better, stronger person --trust me.

Venus in Aries - 2/8/2012



And, last, but not certainly least, we have our lovely lady, Venus is moving into red-hot Aries on February 8th. She will be fiery and passionate, stirring areas of our lives with quick, and, sometimes, impulsive energies. Venus may be a bit intense, but it may be just what we need to motivate or stimulate areas of our lives where we need a little assistance with our desires and passions!
